Flowers

The sun has finally gone behind the clouds and the liquid held within has at last fallen to the ground and thus flowers are born. We have been so very dry. Its kinda funny seeing as how one of my more recent posts had videos of a tropical down pour. Florida is a strange place it needs to rain a lot because of the sandy soil, it does not hold moisture and so when it does not rain it can quickly turn into a desert.

Our yard was shriveling up and basically it began to look like the foothills of Davis County in August in our yard. (No offence to all you Utahans I just want you to have a visual so you could appreciate what I'm talking about LOL.) the rain began to fall last week the nice kind of rain that falls softly and then sinks into the ground nurturing the roots and bringing the green out.

William went out and took some fabulous photos of some of the flowers we have growing in our yard. I have always loved flowers and I don’t think the world could have too many of them. I’m not picky they can be small, tall, wild, cultivated, wonderfully scented, or stinky. I wish there were many more.

I remember going up into the Uintah Mountains in the spring and seeing the meadows full of color the entire ground was covered with millions of flowers of all kinds. It was like I was in a painting. I could have just sat there all day and watched the soft breeze blowing across the field causing the flowers to dance gracefully like some giant ballet; The bees and butterflies moving gracefully from bloom to bloom it is so majestic. I love this world so much beauty.

We call these firework flowers. it is some kind of Orchid.

This is a Passion flower. There are two kinds of butterflies that lay there eggs on this vine, when we get some caterpillars we will take some photos of what they look like. One of the butterflies that lay eggs on this vine we posted a photo of before it is brown with a yellow strip on its wing.

This is one of our many wild pets that have the run of our backyard.

As more flowers bloom we will add them so you can see how wonderful it is in Florida. and Then all of you will want to come and live by us. Or at least come and stay a day or two. We miss you all and think of you often.

Things have been crazy for us of late. Kids, School, work, the normal stuff. School will be out in just a few weeks. The girls are going to go to summer camp they are very excited. The boys will probably just play-play station and computer games.

I have been working on writing a book. It has been a lot of fun. I have the first two chapters written and another chapter written but I don’t know where it will fit into the story. I get these ideas and start to write, unfortunately they don’t go in order; so at some point I will have to get them to match up but for right now I’m just letting the story play its self out.

Will is also keeping busy working on a board game, its about pirates and so far it looks really cool, he is having a great time researching all kinds of stuff for it. I think it will be a great success someday.

It’s raining its poring! Welcome to Florida. This is what I call a rain storm!!

School is out today for a teacher prep day?? I guess they need time to work up the strength to take on our wild kids LOL. . I wish we all got prep days at our jobs, I know as a stay at home mom I could really use one of those days. A day where I did not have any kids at all so that I could regroup and think of stuff to do with them. I don’t know maybe bake, draw, play with? I don’t know I think I need two prep day’s to figure it all out or even better an entire week at a spa in New Mexico with some hunk rubbing me down with some new seaweed thing or something to cleanse my mind and body. Oh yah I defiantly need a prep week.

It has been warm and rainy for the last two days, I enjoyed it though because we could really use the rain things have been so dry of late. I love to lay on the porch swing and listen to the birds sing its nesting season and so there is a lot of activity there. LOL the orange trees are in bloom and the sent caries like thick perfume in the warm humid are. I love it!!

I have begun working on a book. I don’t know if it will ever be done, My dream is to have it published but then again I don’t know if I have it in me to produce something people other then my poor family would read out of love a duty to me. LOL. But that is the goal and at least at this point today I’m working towards it. Well ok not right now because I’m writing this but you know what I mean.

OK, ok. I know that I have not been keeping this blog up to date at all. But that does not mean that I have been sitting on the couch and watching TV. all day every day either. (ok so maybe I have)

Jessica and Brandon came over and stayed with us this week it was wonderful to spend time with them. We went to the beach one day and froze our buts off but the crazy thing about that was that there were a million people out in YES IN the WATER What the HECK??!! They must be from lands to the north, with frozen bodies and brains other wise they would know that the water was way too cold to get into.

We played Apples to apples it was the funniest thing ever I have not laughed so hard in a very long time. It felt good. Jess took her kitty midnight home with her. I miss midnight begging from me when I’m cooking, and jumping up on the back of the couch behind me and flicking her fail in my face. I hope that she likes living in an apartment.

I found some photos of when we went to Miami with Linda and Brian this is the light house we sent to it was so awesome. I will post other photos later.

We had so much fun. It was so relaxing!!! I hope we can do something like this again soon. (side note we had to stop a teen from dropping his pop can on that man you can barley see at the bottom of the photo when you are looking down. some peoples children)

We have court on Monday with the girls. They are going to begin the process of terminating the rights of the parents. It will be a bitter sweet day for everyone. But one of the saddest parts is that this is something that at one point I had prayed for with all of my heart and dreamt about.

We are not planning to adopt the girls; this has been an extremely difficult decision to come to. Its not that we don’t love them or even that we don’t want them it’s just that something is not right about them staying with us. It goes deep with in and can’t be explained in words I have tried but it just comes out sounding lame. Will and I have talked and talked about how we feel and we keep coming to the same conclusion. These girls are not our forever children, they belong someplace else with another family.

Some extended family on the mother’s side has expressed some interest in having them but I don’t see that happening, if they had wanted them they would have done more in the begging to get them its been 3 years!!!!!. I’m so tired of all of this, I want my life back. This is not where I wanted this blog to go. I love these little girls with all of my heart and having them happy is top most in my mind. I only wish things were different we were younger, richer and more energetic. When Heidi comes running to me calling mommy, mommy it breaks my heart and I feel like I’m such a terrible hateful person. I don’t know if I will ever be able to forgive myself for not keeping them.

Work, work, work!!! And to think I wanted to have a big yard!!! I have worked in the yard for two Saturday's now and it does not look that much different. Why is it that all the nice stuff froze and the weeds just keep on growing???

I'm now on face book. Strange place, people trying to kidnap you and writing on your walls; How can this stuff be legal? In any sane world they would be hauled off to jail! But it is happening all of the time on face book. Oh and how can one have a wall in virtual space??? I'm so confused!

We got new phone's now and we are with Verizon or how ever you spell it. We have way cool new phones that can take photos, txt, play music assign different ring tones to different people and even clean the house!!! Why did Will not get the one that does yard work??? I'll have to have a little talk with him.

Things are moving along with our girls, we have court on the 23, and they are wanting to stop trying to reunify them with the egg and sperm donors. Extended family has finally stepped up and there is some talk that they want the girls to come to them. I will believe it when I see it.

How many of you all hate to go shopping??? Me, me, me!!!!! raises hand and waves it in exaggerated movements. I needed new pants so off to Wal-mart I go and I know what size my bottom is so I proceed to gather more than just a few of the required size, I get a number of the same paints but in different colors just to see how they look on me. Now this is where it gets exciting.

First the right leg goes in and then the left and pull!!!! ok I thought pants were suppose to button around ones waist not ones Knees!!!!! Ok that happens but tell me is it suppose to happen with the exact same size and brand you just tried on and they fit beautifully???!!! GRRRRRR!!!! Yes it is true the green ones fit but the blue ones fit only one thigh!

Shirts are not much better in one designer I wear a M but in another it is an XL??? What insanity is this????? I reiterate I HATE SHOPPING FOR CLOTHING!!!!! And yes this definitely includes shoes!!!! PHOOEY!!! on them all.

I feel that there should be a law that all clothing sizes should be the same so no matter where I am if I wear a size 5 (IN MY DREAMS LOL) then any size 5 I pull off the rack will fit me to perfection!!!! When I am ruler of a world I will make it so. and if any crazy seamstress or designer tries to fool me by changing the size from what it is to what they want it to say will be struck dead with a lightning bolt!!! Wahahahaha Witness my Omnipotent power!!!!

Ok I feel better now.

Well I just learned today that one can get tagged when not even playing the game tag or for that matter within touching distance of said tagger. In fact it is now possible to tag someone who lives 1000’s of miles away from you. What ever happened to being able to run away and evade said tagging. Or even the more colorful form of tagging the beautiful hieroglyphics talented young teens and other hoodlums pepper each and every city freeway overpass from here to Tim Buck Too!?

But that being said I was excited to delve into my massive photo bucket and find that forgotten gem of photography brilliance to show each and every one of you that tee hee my tagging that I am a much better photographer than every one. Alas to my dismay no HORROR I was faced with a photo that should have been deleted for lack of any artistic inspiration at all.

BEHOLD the bottom of an ANT FARM!!!! And reflected in the glass the manly arm of my youngest son Benjamin to whom the ant’s belonged. Benjamin had been begging and begging t have an ant farm he has been fascinated by ants for as long and I can remember we have bought him every book I could find about them even one Christmas a out of print book. That cost me a mint!!! Can anyone say KACHING $$$$$$

Benjamin was not satisfied with the mail order ones because they do not come with a Queen and with good reason Queens lay egg and eggs produce more wait for it….. ANTS who knew?? Well one day he and his dad went into the deep jungles of Florida with aquarium and shovel in hand and dug up and ant hill. My mighty white hunters came home victorious!

The ant’s did well they dug and dug. We fed and fed and after about a month and a half with no noticeable reduction in the ant colony we concluded that we may have a Queen in this nest. We pondered the idea for some weeks when after much discussion we concluded that if there was a Queen she would be at the bottom of the tank where it is nice and dark. So we lifted the tank and looked under and LOW AND BEHOLD a Queen and eggs were found. (This is how this photo came to be. You can’t really see the ants or the eggs very well but they are there)

Benjamin was thrilled with the idea that he had succeeded in obtaining his life’s desire. He quickly lost interest and I the mom was left feeding 100’s of ants a day. It was pretty cool but catching the bugs to feed them was well let’s put it this way YUCY!!

After many, many months we thought they were dead and so Ben dumped out the tank in the back yard. And you guessed it they were just being sneaky they were all hiding in underground places eating all that stuff I had so vigilantly given to them. The little sneaks. So now someplace in our back yard lives on my thousands upon thousands of grand ants.

And for anyone who cares I love 666 because it is my birth month and year!!! Yes its true for all of you who was not certain I am Satan. Whahahahaha well almost I missed the day of the month oh well better luck next life.
